Please reach out if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Everyone gets massage for different reasons, and based on your wellness goals, this answer might change. As a general rule of thumb, it's best to stay well hydrated before your massage (avoid caffeine, alcohol and recreational drugs) and to arrive clean and free of odor. It can be helpful to do a bit of light stretching and moist heat (Epsom salt soak, hot rice pack, etc.) or ice therapy shortly before your appointment to get a jump start on loosening your muscles- but is not at all a requirement.
Absolutely not! This is your time, and your comfort is my TOP PRIORITY. Typically, most clients wear their underwear but if you would prefer to wear more or less, that is completely your choice. Only areas of the body that are currently being treated will be exposed. The breast and genital areas will always remain draped and never massaged.
Massages with children (17 years old or younger) are required to wear minimal appropriate attire. No exceptions.
Girls- sports bra and underwear/athletic shorts (bathing suits are acceptable)
Boys- underwear/athletic shorts
Massage can positively impact your life in different ways, for both mind and body, including:
Please inform your therapist when you arrive if you have any allergies or sensitivities to any topical or ingestible ingredients. At Aspen Leaf, we use an unscented "Hypoallergenic Sensitive Skin Formula" massage lotion (ingredients are listed below). Alternatively, we have 100% pure Jojoba Seed oil available to those who cannot use our standard lotion option, but you are also free to bring in any type of lotion or topical for your therapist to use during your session.

Again, every body is different and can experience different things after receiving massage. Immediately after your session, it is common to feel sluggish, dazed, euphoric, or some may even feel slightly ill or almost intoxicated (although this is much less common, but normal). The days following, it can be expected that the client could be slightly sore or tender to the touch in areas treated (this should be minimal to moderate, like after a good work out) but notice a reduced sense of pain and tension.
I always recommend the few days after your session, continuing your self-care at home by staying well hydrated, eating a healthy light meal, plenty of rest, keeping activity and work outs relatively light, light stretching and moist heat/cold therapy where is appropriate.
In a perfect world, I would recommend every day! ;)
Depending on your lifestyle, health, and stress levels this answer can change. If your goal is maintenance, then a one-hour massage once a month is a great starting point. If you suffer from chronic pain, are recovering from an injury or are in a particularly stressful season of life, then the length of session and/or frequency will probably increase. After a few consistent sessions, progress and goals can be reevaluated and adjusted from there to best suit your needs.
Your appointments are reserved especially for you, and we understand that life can sometimes get in the way. However, because it is challenging to fill a cancelled appointment without sufficient notice, we kindly request that you provide us with at least 24 hours' notice for any cancellations or rescheduling. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may result in the forfeiture of any deposit made or a charge of 50% of the cost of the service as a missed appointment fee. Those that "no call/no show" their appointment, will be charged the full amount of the scheduled services. We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, therefore last minute cancellations due to things such as verifiable emergencies/illnesses will generally not result in any missed session charges, however this is to be determined at the practitioner's discretion and may require proper documentation.
To ensure you have the best experience, please arrive 15 minutes before your initial appointment (and 5 minutes before your appointment thereafter) to complete any necessary intake paperwork, allow for proper intake and to get comfortable in a non-rushed manner. While we will make every effort to accommodate late arrivals and adjust the start time, the full appointment duration cannot be guaranteed to respect the schedule for other guests. In the event of a late arrival, the regular service price will still apply. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in making your visit and those of our other guests enjoyable and timely.
We accept all major credit cards, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Google Pay, and cash (exact amount please- we cannot make change/break bills).
Yes, we also accept HSA/FSA payments as well as SpaWeek Gift Cards!
